the bank said that they were sending me a maestro card but will i get an overdraft facility if i do not work

You will have to ask the bank and they will take you through an overdraft application process to see if you qualify.

It depends on your credit history and what money will be paid into the account eg any income or benfits.

It is impossible to say without a bank completing the application process.

Yes you probably will, being a carer (for an immediate family member) is now recognised as work, and can't be disciminated against. If your account is run well there's no reason why you shouldn't get an overdraft.

Although I'd advise not taking one as it's easy to end up in a mess!!

You had better have a chat to your bank to find out if they will let you have an overdraft on your account. We on Yahoo Answers cannot speak for your bank, so it is up to them to decide.

I don't think a master card would be a good idea, especially if you are not working. What ever you buy with the card, you will need to pay for, with interest.

my god you dont want one do you, borrow money and you have to pay back more one way or another, if you don't have it dont spend it!
