Let her watch TV, just stay nice and calm. Thretin Christmas presents if she gets out of hand and the nicer you are, the better she'll be!
Good Luck!

rent a kids movie (try little einstiens). if that's not an option put on the educational cartoon channel ( it's channel 11 here in chicago, I don't know what it is by you though) or the disney channel.
Give hers some paper and crayons and tell her to draw her mom a pretty picture. Feed her mac and cheese, or her favorite cereal. If they have chicken nuggets or fries throw some in the oven. Don't worry about the nutritional value of these foods, you're not her mother, besides one day of bad food is not going to kill her. I'm sure she has plenty of toys that will keep her busy, she may even have a favorite DVD at her house. If she starts being bad, warn her that she will get a time out if she doesn't stop then make sure you follow through. Put her in a chair facing a wall (or the spot her mom uses for time outs) and don't let her out for six minutes. Before letting her go, remind her why she got a timeout and ask her to apologize. If she doesn't she stays there until she apologizes for whatever she did. I'm sure you'll do fine. Try not to stress because she will pick up on that and use it against you. If she tries to push your buttons tell her that her mom left you in charge of her and not the other way around. But I have a feeling she is going to be a great kid for you. It'll go smoother than you expect.

She should have her own toys. And at 6 she should be past crying when her parents leave.

Just play with her or watch TV with her. Just pretend like your having fun if she wants you to play with her dolls.

Make sure the parents leave instructions on what she can and cannot eat. They may not want you cooking anything.

Try not to give her sugar that will make her hyper and just ask her what she would like to do. She will let you know what she likes and what she does not. The same thing with the food sugest a couple of things in the cupboard and let her decided what she would like.

All you need to do is pay her some attention.

Play a board game or watch a kid movie with her.

Kids at this age are easy to feed.....PB & J, Mac & Cheese, Hot Dogs, Apples, Popcorn (for the movie)

ever see that commercial where the guy takes the kids running all over the town and when the folks get back they fall asleep. Active kids are happy kids. go to the park or something.

These are questions that you need to ask her parents before they leave you alone with her. They will respect you, and feel more secure in you as a sitter if you ask these very important questions. Good luck!

If you are watching her at her house it's in the bag...jst ask her what she likes to do. Mom should be telling you what to feed her and what not to.
My neice loves to color and play games. If no games, use a deck of cards and play the memory game.
Kids are fun! Enjoy it.
