I have always wondered why men of all ages seem to be attracted to very young women. Like 16/17/18 years old. I just don't get it! These "women" are way to young to be good wives, to young to take care of a man or a baby, way to young to drink or go out. These girls probably still sleep with a stuffed animal. They have no education, no real job. Most still live at home with their parents. However men of all ages seem to be totally attracted to them. Plus, these girls are to young to have sex with legally. Why aren't men attracted to women with a great career, and wisdom??

It's very simple. At that age women are at their most fertile. That also have strong, youthful bodies that can withstand having multiple children. The sexual part of our brains is wired for reproduction so we are most attracted to the women we can best reproduce with. It is base instinct, nothing more.

I don't think the answer will be the same for every young lady. Some are attracted to the power and money that older men have, power is known to attract the opposite sex, and with power the money usually follows. They don't necessarily have to be good looking either! For others it may be a father substitute, although the reasons for this vary. Most young ladies wouldn't either know or acknowledge this. If dating without commitment is what they both want, the age difference can go either way. People are not known to be rational when choosing partners. For older guys, having a younger girlfriend is a status symbol which means some are always on the prowl! It could be a phase she is going through, sometimes people either get over what causes them to choose older men or they just grow up. Hey as long as she is happy and not being taken advantage of, then be happy for her.

Most mature men are not attracted to a teenager. You are talking about a few men. Just as a few women run around with anybody and any thing. they may want them as a toy for the night but if you are looking for a serious relationship with a women you don't want a kid. But if you 23 or 24 a women 22 probably wants the same things you do. I have a 26 year old friend that says the women he dates and he is looking for a wife is 25 years old. And as far as having children. I want a women who understands that at this time I am not ready to be a father.
I don't want some girl that is dating thinking I will get pregnant and then he has to marry me. No she has to be mature enough to want to find out how much we want to be together for the next 20 years before we bring a long term commitment into the world.
Myself I am attracted to a women with a great career and wisdom. What one man is attracted to another isn't.
My friends pick these girls I find so unattractive. Then I see one that is a real knock out. they say "Her?"
That is why I don't know how they pick beauty queens.
Julia Roberts would never win a beauty contest, but I think she is hot.

The problem with generalizing like that is that you insult a lot of people with your question. Not all men are attracted to very, very young girls. While it is true that some men who lean towards pedophilia are attracted to and make it a point to chase after young women, most mature men (who understand that there's more to a relationship than just sex) are attracted to women in their own age group, with whom they have more in common.

Men/boys don't want these chicks to be wives or mothers they want eternally young sex godessess that have tight u know whats and are naive.
The truth is girls 16-18 are physically women and they can be very attractive. I was hot like 3-4 years ( I'm 21) ago at that age and I enjoyed it.
The dudes that worry me are the ones looking at 13-15 year olds now that's creepy.
You had your youthful sexy glory days now it's these girls turn to turn heads.

Ok ok, you should have stopped at the way too young to drink or go out..but FYI we DO have education and some DO have jobs. And men are attracted to women their age as well, I am sure. But I heard it's because younger women look more ready to bear children or something along those lines..it has to with the whole "human nature" thing. I agree with you, though..men do tend to be attracted to young women. I guess its because we are at the early stages of maturity.

Older women tend to be very cynical
Almost all of the womens answers seem to back the point that men like younger women, because of the failings of older women!

Well i think because in those ages the girls have a more beatiful physiognomy and faces...like angels..and then after 17 or 18 they change...also i think that its a common fantasy..like nurses or handcuff..not all the people its atracted to them...i like young girls since i have 14 years old and right now i have 23 and i still think that they are beatiful but never do anything because the law and manners...also many times they dont have a good talk because they arent mature..so its just the view..not in the thinking way

First of all,to generalize and say all men prefer young women is inaccurate.I prefer women my own age (40s)I have more in common with them and gee sex is great,but you spend more time with them out of bed than in bed,so I want someone who I can both be intimate with and yet have a common bond with.The stereotype of the older man with the younger woman is not as common as this question states .Besides some men are insecure and want to try to impress others with a trophy wife,car etc...You sound a bit cynical,I'll bet you have had a few bad experiences.Do yourself a favor and open your mind ,the right man is out there go find him.

being attracted to them is not the same as having a relationship with them.. but yes some sickos out there will try to make a life with some young girl and ruin both of their live in the process.. about 2oo or more years ago it was common for older men to marry younger women and i guess the thought is always there

This is going to sound dumb (as I am a woman), but men want the younger women because it makes them feel virule and manly and they like the thought of other men envying him being with a younger woman. I really think it makes them think they are pretty hot. Mostly it is like the animal kingdom - they want to procreate and in the animal kingdom the males of the species go for the healthiest female and that usually means a younger female. I think men have a harder time with getting older than most women.
When I said men want a younger female to procreate with, I sure didn't mean that they want to have children and get married because that is the furthest thing from their minds. Mostly they like to have a fling with this young thing until she gets demanding and marriage minded and then it is splitsville for the man. LOL
