Do you mean writer's BLOCK? If so, I don't think you can keep from getting it. But, once you have it, there are some things you can do to get rid of it. One of my favorites is to stop writing what you're writing and write something else. If you're writing a novel and get stuck, skip forward in time to an exciting part of your planned plot. If this doesn't work, take a drive, take a jog, drink a vault, read another book, or watch a movie. Whatever you do, the key is letting time pass before you resume writing what you're writing.

Hack your way out of writer’s block
I recently had occasion to do some…errr…research on writer’s block. Yeah, research. That’s what I was doing. Like a scientist.

All the very best of luck to you.

Find someone with a serious case of Alzheimers. Stick a thick hypodrmic needle through their skull, clear through to the brain. Suck out 100 cc's of fluid. Inject it into your self intravenuously. Repeat until you don't remember doing that.

I dunno, but you could try doing writing exercises to get over writers block.
Do a lot of short stories, or single paragraphs, or write dialog between two characters. Ignore the plot of whatever it is you're trying to write and go with something smaller and different.

Just keep writing, write anything even if you think it is stupid. you can always go back and change it.
Sometimes when I do that it will send my story into a direction that I like better than my original idea.
Good Luck!!

Do you mean "block"? If you want to combat, perhaps take a break or expose yourself to other creative media. It might jog your creativity.
