If you're looking for a brand new guitar, I'd go with a "hybrid" instrument--i.e. an acoustic guitar that comes suitably equipped with pickups so that you can plug it into an amp when you need to. That way you can get a feel for how your guitar sounds in different acoustic environments and thus more easily decide later on which type you ultimately want to go with.

guitar is a huge responsibilty, I mean HUGE. But yeah, guitar players are cool, but if you are just kinda 50/50 on the whole thing, then why not start a band? If you really do have a great singing voice, then it should be easy, that way, ur voice is accompanied by instruments, and you don't have to learn an instrument. But here is the whole other decision, if you do start a band, it's a plus to know an instrument, so ur not singing on every single song, it can get monotonous, trust me, band for three years. But if you are going to take up the guitar, than I would go for acoustic, then move to the electric. Hope this helps and good luck. Happy Holidays!

Playing the guitar is sooooo much fun because you get to make uo songs. If you are more in to rock choose a type of electric guitar like a telecaster. If you are more country or pop try a type of acoustic.

Go for it, I love the sound of an accoustic guitar, as for the type, start out learning the basics and just go on and play the kindof music YOU like. Good luck!

Noooo!
please don't!
there's already too many people with good singing voices learning the guitar. learn the sitar, try base jumping, whatever. maybe do something useful.
just not another singer-with-guitar in the world.
if you do get one, get it cordless, you'll still look good and it won't sound as bad.

i play acoustic and sing, but my favorite thing to sing with is piano... its a lot easier to learn, and i personally think its easier to learn guitar with common chord knowledge under your belt! just start out chording music, sing with it... and its fun!
