I've sure heard of a murder!

But I've never heard of a murder of them taking over just one yard? Just curious, do you have acreage?

All, I can tell you, really they are a beautiful, intelligent bird that it can be fun to have around.

Have you ever considered just hanging on to and keeping this endangered species that has chosen to honor you this way?

Looks like they are seeking you're protection. Could they now be you're totem animal? That would be good? As I say, they are smart!

And there may not really be anything you can do about it, legally. That may sound hard. Probably nothing accept a deterant that will not harm them.

But considering you'res is one of the places they feel safe in, doesn't sound like you will really be able to deter them.

So, can ya find a way to enjoy them? But keep other small animals out of their site, I think. Don't really know if that's a problem or not.
I really think they only scavenge.

If you click on my picture, I have a really good website in my questions, and answers, possibly. I know I've either asked, and/or answered this one, from Mythology Section. Good Luck! And wishing the Crows luck as well! I think they have come to bring you luck. And ya wouldn't want to send away good luck like that, right?

First off, your plain old garden variety crow is not endangered. The Hawaiian crow and the Mariana crow are, but if you are living in the 48 contiguous states, your crows are not endangered.

I recommend learing to appreciate the crows. They perform at least one useful function in my yard, which is to harass the enormous squirrel population (cause by neighbors feeding the squirrels). They also forage through fallen leaves for bugs, periodically clean out my gutters, pick up any shiny trash that people might be so unthoughtful as to leave in or near my yard and are generally pretty entertaining.

When I moved to my current location about three years ago, I had no appreciation for crows, I just considered them to be obnoxious, loud birds. Now I recognize several differnent calls that they make, not all of which are loud and rude sounding!

So really, what harm are they doing?

is that a proper term for "a flock of crows"? or is something or someone dug into your backyard and is murdering crows?
(sorry, couldn't resist)
actually crows are pretty cool birds, i rather like them. they are smart to the point of nusance though. be patient, nature has a way of dealing with these things on her own in her own way....we have hawks that have moved into our neighborhood because of the easy pickins of bunny and squirrel, and my wife was wanting me to do something about it myself, and just about the time i got a pellet gun the hawks show up, and a fox or two, and now we don't have much of a bunny and squirrel problem. i think something similar will happen with the crows.

Well, relax, because if you have crows, you can rest assured they are taking care of business for you. They will keep your property clear of any rodents or dead carion, they will scavenge whatever they can, also keep yours and the neighbouring properties clear of natural debris. They are also very elegant and graceful birds, like to nest in high places and their call is very strong and memorable. So, don't do anything: enjoy!

Crows are intelligent creatures, and will gradually get used to sounds(from sources other than moving/living things) once they figure out that it is safe. Killing them is of course illegal and inhumane. Your best bet is to buy a dog that barks at anything that moves.

Get a shotgun. lol
Use scarecrows, and this might cost a lot of money, but get an alarm or a loud speaker, and every like, 10 minutes, make it go off, that'll scare them away.

If it is also overgrown by shrubs, trim it and make it look how u would desire, then they won't have a place to land.

It was in The Simpsons, make your wife make a scarecrow. Come home drunk, and beat it up. Then they'll be your slaves.
