I'm always in disbelief everytime I see the Discovery Channel or National Geographic showcasing modern-day Mongols; to know that these simple, yet sophisticated nomads once ruled the largest empire ever with an iron fist.

Do you think they could pull off another campaign one last time, just for the good ol' days?

I understand that half of it was just Genghis Khan's leadership, but the other half is also the disciplin and simple, yet tightly organized way of life of the Mongolian people. They are truly a fascinating people.

No.

I travelled from Thailand all the way north through Laos and China into Mongolia. And I too was most impressed by what I learned about the Mongols. Of all the peoples in history in that region of the world, the Mongols were the most fascinating. They had FIRE under their bottoms that made them want to conquer.

But you'll further learn that as soon as the Khans' started to get further from Ghengis's all conquering notion, and started to develop into civilized people, and allowed politics to come into play with the rest of China, things started to go bad. Then eventually the last Khan became just a figurehead.

Now, if you really like history and found that whole Mongol Dynasty fascinating, you should think about what the USA should do. They have an opportunity to become a hugely imperical society, not just economically as it presently is, but one with FULL ON military strength. They can establish themselves in iraq, fully conquer it, send colonials to establish the region, cultivate it as the Israelis did in Palestine. Give American citizens incentive to live over there, like promises of land. AND BOOM..there you go, another State.

Unfortunately there probably aren't any real economic incentives to convince lower income people from the states to go there.

Strangely enough, the Mongols, as they were nomadic, wanted to conquer other worlds and go to distant lands. They were not held down nor compelled to stay home in the beginning of Gehngis's tours. They were finally done in once they got situated and satisfied.

It's the same story with the States.

u are overestimating how advanced they are, most have never lived the life u know and would not know what to do with a cell phone or a remote control, or a car or a physical examination, they don't got "got" know if you ever got a few thing in life they still don't know what got is and probably never will but yes there is hope and they will wonder where is this leader buried, and who will dig him up-great opportunity to start archeoalogy in a direction if they could only access the tomb and then make up stories as they do today only they would call them facts

they are so disadvantaged in technology that maybe if aliens landed and gave them some ray guns and things of that nature they might be able to conquer some sheep herders but as far as getting that big in conquered square miles again no it happened once because of the simpicity of those they conquered mostly by shear numbers.... once however was enough with the death and destruction that they spread.

Yes. Because they clearly have a more sophisticated weapons arsenal than the other Asian countries. You know, China, North Korea, Japan.

No, you fool.
