I broke it about 10 years ago playing ultimate frisbee. We were playing on a field that had not seen rain or watering in a while, and was quite hard. I jumped to block a pass and came down hard, landing on my left hand, and my wrist cracked. It actually didn't hurt that much, all things considered. For whatever reason, they gave me a soft cast/brace, not a hard cast, which I wore for four weeks. The worst part of the ordeal was getting my lifeguarding certification during that time. I had to take my final certification tests five days after breaking it, and two parts were especially hard: holding a brick out of the water with my hands while treading for two minutes (which was a little painful and distracting, but not as bad as I thought it would be) and in-water escapes. The escapes were brutal because they involved pushing the other person (playing a struggling victim trying to grab you for safety) under water, mainly by pushing down, which means you need your wrists. That was not cool. Also not cool: freeing yourself when the "victim" grabs your wrist. The solution there is to grab the victim's wrist with your other hand, and push down so you both go under, and the victim lets go (because he's scared of drowning and being under water). That one really hurt, but thanks to three Advils and some teeth gritting, I passed.
Hope you aren't asking because you broke yours...if so, heal quick!

yeah, in 1st grade I fell off a slide and landed on the rubber foam under the slide but still broke my right wrist. It hurt enough to cry. I forget how long the cast was on, a few weeks at least and then I wore a sling for a week.

My daughter broke her's. She fell off the monkey bars at school, and was in a cast for 4 weeks, and she was in a significant amount of pain the first couple of days. She took Ibuprofin and Tylenol for swelling and pain after the first week. Hope this helps!

Yeah. It took me a week or two to get it back to a level that was somewhere near my other wrists.
