This is no different. What you would have to do is go 27/32 divided by 3. Remember that dividing with fractions is the same as multiplying by the reciprocal. Therefore,

27/32 divided by 3/1 =
27/32 times 1/3 = 9/32

Each piece is (9/32) inches long.

2) A metal containing 3/4 square foot cut into six equal parts is similarly found as above; divide the number by 6.

3/4 divided by 6 is equal to
3/4 times 1/6 = 1/8 square feet
