I know the purpose of a bra is to hold a woman's breasts up and provide support. But that doesn't seem like a real reason. What if women don't wear bras and their breasts weren't supported? How would that be different? They would just hang more, but I don't see the real purpose of just supporting them.

They don't really. It is just a support garment. Of course the markerters have made it into a MUST have item, just so they can sell more. Some woman need to wear them, because their breasts of back may hurt if they don't. Also some women have very sensitive nipples, and need the coverage of a bra for protection.

But if none of these things are an issue for you, go braless!!!
Enjoy it while you can. Gravity catches up with every body, and sooner or later you will need to support your 'girls'

As a lady who has had breast maximum cancers, I have study up plenty about the disease.i will inform you that wearing bras has not some thing to do with maximum cancers, that's the genetic make up of someone who determines maximum cancers, not the wearing of bras. EDIT> image Nurse, you're an insult to me and different breast maximum cancers sufferers. there is also no link or data about aluminum in ant-perspirants to reason maximum cancers.trust me, at the same time as i replaced into clinically determined with B/C I requested many questions.i'm a member of a few B/C forums the position this kind of pressure comes round from time to time. If any of you've actual concerns about B/C, please do not hesitate to ask a real specialist. all of us ought to declare to be an expert on right here, and to settle for his or her suggestion is amazingly risky certainly.

theres a lot of reasons. there are muscles in your chest that help hold your breasts in place but when u run or walk or even just when gravity acts on them it puts more stress on the muscles and if your boobs are big enough it can tear it. a bra acts kind of as a back up to your muscles to help support them. bras are also used to create a better, rounder shape that tends to look better under clothes

They would hang more, but the larger a woman's breasts are the more painful it would be to not have that support. Just imagine ten pounds hanging off of your chest, after a while, it would hurt your back.

Trust me, you need the support. If you don't wear a bra, things like jumping, and running would be really uncomfortable expecially if you have larger breasts it would hurt.

As a woman with a larger chest, participating in certain activities braless (jogging, anything rigorous, etc.) would be uncomfortable. They would bounce and that's not the best feeling. That and not many women want their nipples to be visible thru their shirts.

Huh?
Definitely a guy.
If a woman has very small breasts it might not be necessary, but for the rest of us there is one very good reason - GRAVITY!
Unless we want them hanging to our navels like cocker spaniel ears and we like tolerating breast pain and stretch marks, the "girls" need some decent support!

If you were a girl, particularly an athletic one, and you didnt have a bra on imagine how well you would be able to run around with those things flopping everywhere. Besides it looks better.

Good point. I choose not to wear one most of the time and I'm pretty blessed if you know what I mean. When I do where one it's mainly to keep them under control. When your breast are natural they tend to move a lot and it's pretty annoying if you are active.

Women who are very well endowed need the support to ward off back problems from being to front heavy. I on the other hand was blessed with not so much (just enough) and very rarely wear one, unless my clothes are so sheer you can see too much.
