I think that Passion left the game a long time ago. It used to be that a player had pride in their country and with that pride came the Passion to do well.

Unfortunately the Pride has vapourised along with the Passion.

England's Cricket team have never been beaten 5 nil since the 1920's. It looks as if it is on the cards again. Why??? No pride or Passion.

Money has ruled the game for quite a while now, and the passion of the players is now a passion for money, rather than for the game or their club or country.

One thing that money can't take away, is the passion that the supporters have.

yap,

right now i've seen that many pf EPL's clubs were selling just ike goods on walmart...

it seems like a football club become a economic comodity, a money machine for rich(ests) people...

i knew that club needs (a lot of) money to move on but sometimes the owner isn't someone who in love with that club, so that they just think about getting profit not the pride of the club...
well, it's a sad phenomena for me...
they brings expensive players with crazy attitudes and snob behaviors to increase the profit, they build a huge stadium etc but they paid it with the passions...

The passion is where it has always been - local matches with real fans and players who play for fun.

wen the money goes the passion will return, or if they make it that you need a certain amount of foreign player in the team.

The passion is still there, deep down. It has just been overshadowed by money, fame, etc.
