Ok alot is made about how people in southern states may still be rasist, here in New England. I was just wondering isnt that racist toward peopole of the south. Not all southeners, or some one that likes the confederate flag is a racist person.

I'm southern, totaly open minded to races. The confederate flag has nothing to do with racism. Look it up for its real meaning. Racism is totaly not a big deal in Houston where I grew up.

I've lived in Michigan, Florida, and currently reside in Alabama. I would have to say from personal experience the North is far more racist than the south. The reason I think people hear it's worse is because it's talked about openly down here up north it's not talked about. The confederate flag flown today is not actually the confederate flag, yet, a battle flag used by the confederacy. I believe people have a right to fly it and I don't think they are racist they are just supporting their heritage.

The confederate flag isn't racist; like some ignorant people want to believe; It's history.
I'm in the South; The main reason i don't like them is because they sell drugs on every street corner down here.

Ok...ok...LOL....point made. Well, almost made. I am a native new englander...RI, to be exact...and yes, before I moved south EVERYONE told me I was making a mistake. Well, in a way they were right. The south isn't so much racist...neither is the north...its not all about black/white here...its all about north/south. If you are a "yankee"...which they use the same way they would roaches...then you aren't allowed to fit in. I think the problem lies in the north not really understanding the south, and the south not realizing that the d#%$*& war is over...long over. After all, how much do you, personally, really know about the south? If you are like I was...HeeHaw, The Dukes of Hazard and other yahoo shows and movies, plus what we're taught in history, is about it...

I just wanted to say more people have suffered prejudice and have been killed under the american flag than the confederate, just because some rascist fly it doesn't mean thats all it stands for.

racists are every where , confederate flag or not . racism is every where .north south east west ..
