Aaargh, help! The starter motor on my 1993 1.8 petrol Mondeo has just gone, right before Christmas, just when I'm going to need it most to get around the country to see family etc. How much is it likely to cost me to get this repaired or replaced in a garage (including parts and labour)? Anyone have any idea? I'm going to try and get it into the garage tomorrow before I set off on Sunday, but I'm really worried about affording it.......

The cheapest was is to have a reconditioned one fitted , buy it yourself then ask a garage to fit it say its left over from a previos car of the same model or they may be peived about not making a bomb on the starter . It should cost about £60 labour depending were you go the bigger the garage the larger the price . Good luck
And have a good one

that's going to almost actual be written off as a Cat D. minimum elements being both n/s doors and a rear quarter panel, would nicely be damage to the efficient door pillar and the n/s rear inner wing and boot floor, plus paintwork. portray 2 doors and 1 / 4 panel signifies that no less than some thing else of the paintwork will choose slicing decrease back and gadget sprucing yet being metallic the position the lacquer coat has 7 years of getting older ought to point an finished motor vehicle re-spray. The insurers would seem on the autos pre twist of destiny 'commerce' cost not retail cost. i'm extremely confident that you will be declaring so long to it.

The last time I had to buy a starter motor was over 20 yrs ago, it wasn't new, it was re-conditioned and it cost me £25, and one of my son's fitted it for me. I dread to think what one will cost now. I reckon, a small fortune
