If you pulled it recently, DO NOT use heat and DO NOT stretch it. These will only make it worse. Rather, use ice and continue trying to use your neck in as normal a fashion as possible. If it has been a while (more than 3 or 4 days), you should be fine to use mild heat for no more than 15 minutes. Take a nice warm shower and let the water hit your neck while you do gentle left-right and side to side movements.

try putting a warm cloth or heating pad on youre neck for about 15 minuts everyday for about 5 days. If youve already tried that then you should think about seeing ur doctor for some better tips.

Heating pad should help deal with the immediate pain, but there isn't really much you can do other than wait it out, maybe take some ibuprofin to help dull the pain.

see a dr for muscle relaxers
they do help
