The answer is 7. Here's how it works:
First, put the numbers into ascending order:
3,5,6,8,11,15
Then take the middle number (if there's an odd number of numbers), or take the average of the two middle number (if there's an even number of numbers).
In this case, we have six numbers so we need to take the average of the middle two. The average of 6 and 8, and you get the answer - 7.

For a median arrange the numbers in rising order - so rearrange as
3, 5, 6, 8, 11, 15
qnd then choose the middle value, but if there is a even number of values you take the average of the middle two
= (6+8)/2 = 7
