Yes, the majority of fish sleep in a stationary manner (i'm not sure any animal can get by without sleeping at some time, as it is a vital part of the brain's memory circuits - though fish aren't famous for their memories i agree). Sharks are interessting, as they have eyelids, but have to swim constantly or else the water stops travelling through their gills, and they die.

Yes, as far as I know all fish sleep. However, it is misleading because fish have no eyelids, and therefore their eyes remain open while they are sleeping. Many fish also move around while they are sleeping; sharks, in particular, MUST move around constantly or they suffocate, and they still get plenty of sleep. Perhaps this is the reason you thought they might not sleep at all.

Yes, they do. They just dont have eye lids so they sleep with their eyes open. They r like sharks though they swim when they sleep so that they dont sink to the bottom while they sleep. They really dont need to worry about sinking in a tank because it isnt that deep and their isnt any predetors. So it is just a habbite for the fish.(mook)

yes they do, but they dont have eyelids so you dont think they are. Do you notice sometimes that fish are settled closer to the bottom of the tank?well thats when they are sleeping.
