that game was a major turning point of games, for my generation - its only competition (that it was beaten by) was mario 3, the predecessor
there are no cheats that I know of, but if you go to http://www.gamefaqs.com and do a search for super mario world, you'll find helpful guides in there - it's too much information to put on this one page, and also, it's copywritten by the various authors

Search Google. More likely than not, IGN will have some. It should be, at least, the link under the game's official site.
Also... I don't think Nintendo makes a lot of games with cheats. If they do, I haven't found one.
