ok, corny, but love is the supreme power. The image of a man by God in revelation is supposed to rep. that. The only power men have, that are Godlike, is love. we can love like God. =) please dont shoot me!

Because humans are just animals + emotion + reason.
Reason tells us we are the above, and life is largely pointless without other people - we _need_ other people to enjoy life. Love is a natural expression of a bond between people and people love to be loved.
Confusing? Perhaps.
People just don't like to be messed around, and in some cases it's not pure love they're after it's just acceptance of different viewpoints.
