Does it cost more money if you call to anywhere in the US with Sprint, or would it just use up your normal minutes?

If your plan has free long distance (as most new plans do), then it will only cost you minutes of use. And, most of their newer plans offer free calling after 7:00 p.m. and on the weekends.

And roaming is free on most of their plans as well.

You can also share minutes with friends or family (as long as the phones are on the same account).

As long as you're in a Sprint coverage area a call to anywhere in the country (contiguous 48 at least) only uses your regular minutes. No long distance charges.
