It is possible you have a virus. However I suspect adaware/spyware. Get the 2 programs below.
Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/ . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.
Download, update and run Adaware---http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/products/select_your_product.php
After you are sure it is clean get a program called spyware blaster.
Download SpywareBlaster---http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html
SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.
It's main features include:
- Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
- Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
- Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

Popup blockers will only stop web based popups. They can help somewhat, but if you are getting excessive popups, and popups even when you are offline, it means you have trojan downloaders on your machine that are calling out to deliver the pop up ads.
Try a full cleaning and dis-infection routine.
This is the one I use (it will take some time).
1. Scan for virus and remove (free online scan) with BitDefender
http://www.bitdefender.com/site/home/
2. Scan for trojans and remove (free online scan) with Ewido
http://www.ewido.net/en/
3. Scan for ad/spyware and remove (free download) with Spybot Search & Destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html
If you are using an older version of Windows (pre XP-SP2) you may also be getting "Messenger Service" popups which are caused by Microsoft leaving the almost never used Windows Messenger Service enabled by default. This was corrected in Windows XP- Service Pack 2.
Understand that the Windows Messenger Service is completely different from, and not in any way related to, "MSN Messenger", "Windows Live Messenger" "yahoo Messenger", or any other well-known instant messaging system. Therefore, disabling the Windows Messenger service will have no effect upon your use of any other instant messaging applications. They will continue to work without trouble.
To disable this service in older versions of Windows use the free, Shoot The Messenger from:
http://www.grc.com/stm/ShootTheMessenger.htm
Good luck.

Yes its possible, but myspace is a securted website and i doubt you would have gotten a virus from that, usually viruses are recieved by downloading suspicious files.
Anyway your probably using Internet Explorer, which i have always had pop-up problems on, which is why i switched to Firefox.
If i were you i would switch to firefox, i think the website is firefox.com. It comes with great pop up protection, and i have never gotten a pop-up ad using it.

You got spyware. You can either get a few (free) antispyware programs (eg. ad-aware, spybot search and destroy, there are a bunch more, just search for 'antispyware programs').
However, once you get spyware it is nearly imposible for you to get off (even for a Windows pro). Instead I would recommend backing up any data you need to keep and restoring Windows using the disks that came with your computer.
