The first tornado I was ever caught in was in Springfield Mo. in the early 1970's.
We got in a ditch and watched it pass.
There has been severe damage from at least two tornados that I can recall in the Mo. bootheel region in the last year.
They are common.
Oklahoma and Kansas's "tornado alley", does not terminate at the Missouri border. It sweeps right through into Kentucky and Tennessee.
