I had my son about two weeks ago, I have pretty much stopped bleeding and I had no tearing stiches or any other complication. I feel ready to begin intercorse again and so does my husband, is this safe. Of course with double the condoms and spermicide reccomended by doc befor leaving the hospital.

I worked on Post Partum for over 2 years. We always said 6 weeks. Why? Because you need time for your insides (aka cervix, uterus) to heal. You may feel great and look great, but you should wait. Plus, if you were to get preggers again, it would really put a toll on your body.

Hi i was told by my doc, that it best to wait even if you feel great! the reason why: after you have a baby you can look good and feel good but the truth is in the inside, give yourself a bit more time belive me.... and you are also at risk of infections and bad discharge that comes with smelly oders!! that is what my doc told me.and i thank myself i asked her! it is worth a wait! well good luck to you and "congrads" on your new baby!!

only thing I can think of is that the inside of your uterus is still healing. I would suggest you have an exam prior to sex just to make sure all is well and then have fun
