I'm sorry dear. I pray that God be the lifter of your head today, that in your heart He bring forth joy, for the time you had with those you love, for the goodness of God every day in your life, for the things He is doing for you and for the things He will still do for you. Please remember life is always changing, and sometimes not the way we would have it. But God never changes; He loves you so much, yesterday, today, forever. Remember the most precious thing this Christmas, that He sent His son to save us. Give thanks to God for the times of joy you did have, and look forward to the new joys He will bring you in the new year. I pray His peace on your heart, in Jesus' name. And for anyone whose heart this day is sad...I pray that our gracious God will touch that heart and lift you up in His loving arms.

You can not pretend and don't even try to act phony. Don't expect too much of the holidays, people blow it way out of proportion. As time goes by you will remember your grandparents and it will be a warm glow to your holidays. Don't get over tired, eat well, drink lots of water, in other words take care of your body. That way you will physically feel OK. Try to be with friends or visit family. Even though your parents are divorced they still want to see you. And this might be a good time to think about the Christ child, who loves you.

It's SO hard on the holidays. My parents are both deceased. I lost my mom 11 years ago, and my dad 23 years ago, both in the month of December. I was very close to my grandmother and she died in the month of Dec. too.
I don't pretend to be happy when I am not. I just try to get through the holidays for my children. I don't believe in pretending to be something I am not, and it's OK to not be jolly all the time, especially when you feel down.

I don't enjoy holidays or other events much because people are gone, especially one way too young.
I'm not going to be the happiest person this time of year, and I really don't feel like being that person. But I just try to deal the best I can.

for me, christmas brings back all of the good memories. i think its good to remember the ones youve lost, and yes it is easy to get upset, but just remember all of the good times youve had. and think about all of the goodtimes you can have in the future. i miss when i was little, of course , but i dont let it depress me. i stay optomistic. it sounds cheezy but its true. this season doesnt make me sad. Have a wonderful merry Christmas!!

What makes me really depressed is knowing there are children
and adults that will have nothing..
And people who will have a Merry Christmas still complain about
not having or getting enough..

I lost my mother in February and she was my last living parent. My only sibling and I do not speak. I'm a little depressed.
