Isn't it controlling, possessive, stick-together-to-the-end-like... lasting-glue; all that boring self sacrifice, devotion, loyalty and restrictions; broken heart, broken marriage, broken vows and promises, broken friendship, war and conquest - all in the name of love of something or someone or everything or body.

Read the book of 1 John in the Bible. God is love. Love is God. Even if you aren't a Christian, or don't believe in God at all, you have a desire for perfection, and love that always lasts. And that, my friend, is God. So, everyone has a natural desire for God (because He is love). Face it.
