A lot of you seem to think this is something that is somebody's "right" and that we should just learn to live with it. I cannot agree. I have to believe I was put here to make the planet better and I am very distressed at some of the things the children on this site and in the world are "learning".

OK, my blood pressure has now dropped. But I would still very much like some ideas of what I can do. Our children are still going to have to live on this Earth.

Honey, take a few deep breaths....
Racism, hatred, and just plain acting like @$$holes is an infuriating thing. Unfortunately, getting as angry as you obviously are does you more harm than it does the perpetrator of the hate. That person doesn't care. You are only getting your own blood pressure up.
To do something about the problem, on a message board I would be diligent in reporting offenders to the moderators/administrators. (Keep quiet about it, though. If you let them know you're doing it, you only set yourself up to be verbally abused.) As for the world at large, the only thing possible to do about racism is to teach the children better, and eventually the old-generation coots who still think that way will die off.

Well of course it makes you angry. Racism was rooted from hate. What do I do. Theres not much you can do. I hear it daily. 'don't take offence' conversations. This is a topic debated just as much as religion. Most people argue about it not knowing its history. For example most people don't know that the Irish were one of the first slaves. Most Black people don't even know that there own 'people' sold them into slavery. Slavery seems to be the biggest racisim topics, and how many years ago did that end? It was a white man who said nomore. So when faced with ignorence I ask 'easy' what exactly do you know type questions like. "who was is that put slavery to an end?" "How many generations have pasted with no slavery?" "Who do you know that is a slave?" Read more about it. I could go on and on. Who couldn't. There are many equal rights associations. Volunteer at youth groups. Voice your opinion. Voice the fact that a poor white man nowadays has less help than a poor black man. Programs should be for everyone. Minoritys are the poor. NOT the colored.

study buddhism. you have no reason to be angry. empty all your useless emotions and let the river of life flow on past. get yourself grounded and detached from what is fundamentally a frequently painful and endlessy insane world. lock up with nature. human societies here, there and everywhere and your mission is to stay alive and enjoy the show. you are not god. you are not in charge. you are just one of billions of passengers spinning through space on big rock coveredwith water and some trees. who do you think you are? you should seek peace and sanity. you can only do that by detaching from the insanity and working on the peace within.
racism? you are not here to solve what has always been and will always be. different tribes have their ups and downs. how has your tribe done this century? what about 500 years ago, where were you ancestors and how were they making a living? think in terms of millions of years. people don't really live very long. fighting to provide so-called solutions for all the millions things that you want modified is what a fool would try to do. it is why you often see the peace-loving buddhist smiling or even laughing. your way as you live it now is really sad but we will just laugh at the silly and absurd waste of you brief life. don quxiote is a trjue hero compared to you. remember the nail that sticks up gets hammered down. but the odds are you are like so many others and will get caught in one of the millions of causes. ha ha ha ha.

Yes, i do. I'm really Japanese and I always hear people whispering to eachother "Omg she's so japanese. She's probably from Japan *laughs*" or some other stupid stuff and that really annoys me for some reason >< and they also say these weird words and make weird sounds to me like as if they're speaking chinese or something which really annoys me >< haah anyway, my suggestion is for you to eat a healthier diet; this'll help with the skin issue, and may make your complexion a little better. Since you probably burn in the sun, you probably wont get any tanner >< sorry :/ And exercise. I know it really sucks to, but you gotta try. Try and find a motivation. Maybe your motivation can be to stop all the stupid teasing. I know they say that you shouldn't change yourself just because people dont like how you look and stuff but when it comes to overweight issues, you gotta step up and change.

I HAVE HAS just about enough of hate, racism, greed, non-matching socks, iced tea that's not quite sweet enough, unfulfilling bowel movements, and a world in which "Back to the Future IV" does not exist. I know you're getting very angry, but I'm not sure anyone cares unless you're Bruce Banner, in which case, I'm sorry for replying. I wouldn't like you when you're angry.

I completely agree.
The worst is strolling through the immigration section on Y!A where people think it's okay to blurt out their bigotry and ignorance.
Haha, if only the Native Americans had this outlet to discuss the pilgrims back in the day...

Hello =)
One has to realize that from where I'm sitting, your question, and its details all ends up seeming very silly.
Racism and hate are all about intolerance....intolerance of those who are different than you.
But, you are being INTOLERANT of those who are being INTOLERANT....
In an extreme look at this, it is no better.....
The only appropriate view is not to accept the slurs, and insults.....just make a personal decision not to accept them...
It is the only thing worthy of a loving, compassionate person.
Namaste,
--Tom

YES I am white and I had a racist black teacher. I had a 98% in her class and she just plain out hated me and the white kids in are class. She would give the black kids special privileges and let them do what ever they wanted I behaved and did my work and did everything she told me to and I was still treated with disrespect from her. Then one day I had enough and confronted her about it she just said a bunch of lies and I got her fired... a word to the wise don't mess with me.
