How big of an actor is Gerard James Butler over in Glasgow? How about in the entire UK? I'm from the USA hes not to big yet but all of us with yahoo groups are trying to get him known here!

I don't know about Glasgow, but I'm from the US too, and at first he was kinda eh, but when he did the Phantom of the Opera, I fell in love.

He is going to play the main character in the upcoming movie 300. He was also Dracula in Dracula 2000, but I think people want to know more about him from the 300 movie trailer (which is a truely awesome trailer).

The name is vaguely familiar. I watch a lot of films and some theatre but not much TV (except Doctor Who - the best show ever) so I would say he is not famous but not unknown.
Probably what I would call a B list celebrity.
