Is it a DVD-RW drive or just a DVD drive. That makes a huge difference.

Check to see if the CD/DVD is capable of writing to a DVD-R or RW disk.

Most DVD drives can play DVD movies (DVD Video) and music CDs as well as read DVD-ROMs and CD-ROMs. Other drives may also support all, or some combination of, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-R or CD-RW media.

CD/DVD combo does not necessarily mean that it can write either one. It may only be able to read them. Some can write to CD but not DVD.
If you want to do it all, including DVD Ram Disc, you need a Super Multi-Drive.

it somewhat is probably the converter which you're utilizing. in case you have the great Nero software convert the flv video clips to avi and upload them to "Nero imaginitive and prescient". Nero imaginitive and prescient will convert to dvd format. you could burn them as SVCD or DVD.
