In this day and age with internet, TV, satellite radio, newspapers are dinosaurs. The small ones that stick around get worse and worse every year because the owners want to keep on turning a profit. In 20 years, everyone will be reading the newspapers from the big cities, those over 1 million in population and getting most of their local news from the internet.
