I am considering becoming celibate for 2007 (hell, if Sir Cliff Richards can do it so can I!!)
Has anyone else done this? What are the benefits?
I've heard that you are more focused, achieve more and are generally happier.

No chance of getting STD's, no unwanted pregnancies, no fear of rejection. Plus if you are trying to be more spiritual it helps im sure. It would make a guy you really like respect you more. If you find a guy who is doing the same thing it will make it more special.

Apart from the obvious, (pregnancy, std's, aids) I cannot think of any other reason why someone would not want to have sex. Mind you I am in a stable relationship and I love my husband and am never forced if I am not in the mood. Life is good. Choice is yours and yours alone. Happy New Year.xx

Celibacy has three big advantages:
1. STD's/Pregnancies are no longer a concern..
2. Crappy experiences w/ people who are morons lower in number..
& 'depth'...
3. You reduce the possibility of gaining a new embarrassing ex-

I did it for over a year. Never worried about pregnancy, std. I was more focused and got alot done. I missed the intamacy at times, then thought about the hassle. decided it wasn't worth it. I practice self pleasuring, so i was never really horny

Well I have a terrible attitude- Think of the crap you have to put up with for the sake of 5 minutes of squelchy noises- but I feel dreadfully sad when I think that way

Try it for a while and see how it works for you. Personally I think you become less focused but that is just me. Plus for me, it would be a strain on my relationship. ;-)

yes, i was for 2 years while at college, it is a great way to see if guys are interested in you for you.
