By "in a while" do you mean a few days or a few months or a few years? If it's just been a few days, then that's no big deal. If it's been a few months, then you might not be ovulating or you might be ovulating rarely. You could still get pregnant, but you may need medication to make you ovulate (that happened to me - I didn't have my period for 3 months after I went off birth control pills, so my doctor gave me a pill to make me ovulate and I got pregnant!). If it's been years, then it's still possible but you'll almost certainly need medical help.

If you want to get pregnant, you should ask your doctor about it. If you don't want to get pregnant (or at least don't want to right now) you should still use some method of birth control.

You can but the longer it is between preiods the less likely it is. If an egg sits too long before being released it becomes too old and can no longer be fertilized. Some women can get pregnant after not having a period for 2-3 months while others cant. It just depends on your body.

Yes. One of the reasons your period wouldn't show up is because you are ovulating late. Most women ovulate about a week after their period and then get their next period about two weeks after they ovulate. If you are not ovulating on time (which is common), then your period could show up weeks later than you expected. If you are ovulating at all, though, you can get pregnant. So use protection when you have sex if you are not ready to be pregnant.

Yes, I wouldn't depend on skipping periods as birth control. You don't know when you could ovulate, and if you get pregnant 'cause you had sex when you were ovulating, well, then you'll be skipping 9 periods in a row! LOL!!
