I'm trying to make a chemical garden, and I was wondering about how many mL of water should be added to 100 mL of sodium silicate. Would 400 mL be acceptable? Any help would be appreciated.

Why are you adding water?

Shouldn't you be adding transition elements in? Just add transition element into your 100ml Sodium Silicate. You should get your colour.
