There are no totally free services that offer anything substantial.
I promise.

This is the closest thing out there:

After going over this, I just utilized the service spoken of by the NJ State Trooper on here. I come from a very strict Jewish family, and I have been dating a non-Jewish girl for some time now.. A girl who my parents do not approve of. They think there is something very wrong about her. They believe she has a shady past, like she is violent or into drugs or something. To prove them wrong, I decided to run that background check on here from http://www.echeck.pcti-system.com .. I came across many interesting things.. many of which I won't get into.

The report was VERY thorough. What I did find, which turned out to be a deal breaker, was FOUR TRO's(temporary restraining orders) 2 were dismissed, the other 2 were finalized into a final restraining order(lifetime restraining order) ... The ones that were finalized were as a result of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and the other for STALKING. I was shocked when I saw this. I guess sometimes you can never really know who you might be dealing with!

You can check at the city halls, the divorce courts, small claims courts, business licenses, criminal courts where they have lived, all for free. Each will have a file you can access, but you almost have to go there in person. You need all their current and previous names. Some have probably been married several times. Get copies of everything you find. Don't let them know you're investigating them until you're all done. One piece of info will lead to others. I'll bet you'll find a ton of stuff. The online, for sale info, isn't worth much, it's just a royal scam. Do a google search for their names and addresses. Try to contact their previous landlords.

You can't get anything for free unlike the very olden days where there was only the barter system, where you exchange goods for goods.

The best you can do is hire a Detective or try to find from friends if they have a detective in the family maybe they will offer a discount or something.

I used that website http://www.echeck.pcti-system.com .. the one referenced by that detective guy. I found exactly what I was looking for. So much for Mr Right, or rather Mr Convicted Felon with 2 Liens against him totaling over 30,000$ and an ex-wife I never knew about!! Thank God I found out the truth before it was too late. We were almost engaged!!

You can see if anyone has been in jail recently by going to your state's dept of corrections web site , you'll have to do a google search. If your in lets say Michigan or if you know of a state they once lived in you can search for "state name" department of corrections, then look for something on the site that says offender search.

I don't know what state your in but here is Michigan's just to give you an idea.
