If it's just an acquaintance and I don't really care about the person I would give that individual a gift card for Starbucks or gasoline for their car - something they can use for convenience but that really has no sentimental value.
If it was a gift for someone I truly cared about and I don't want them to ever forget me, then I would send something with them that reminds them of me. It may be a picture, or a CD with a song that we both liked - something every time they look at that item I come to their mind.

A special last day thing, where I'd bring them to places they would want to see before leaving. And at the end of that day, I'd give them a photo album thing with all of our memories so that they would never forget their life before moving.

I'd probably get them one of their favorite singer or bands, CD or their all time favorite movie. Also make them some sort of personalized craft, so they will never ever forget you and you will leave a lasting impression.

it depends who the person is...the greatest gift you can give to someone is urself, so if it was soemone i loved i would give them myself..*blush* but if it was a stranger i would probably just hang out with them and let them know i can be a good friend to them & i wont forget the memories we make.
