Whenever you REALLY listen to a song, you realize how WRONG the lyrics are. Do you know what I mean?

They make almost no sense.

I do that all the time. That Cassie song "Me and U" was like on constant rotation and I finally listened to what she was saying, and she basically singing about being a prostitute.

"I know them other guys, they've been talkin' bout the way I do what I do. You heard it was good. You want to see if it's true."

I mean hello! People let their kids listen to this.

I enjoy the music of the late Layne Staley. He sang about the frustration and futility of the world. I listened to his lyrics and guitar rifts to remind me that the world is a hard place.

However, he died of a heroine overdose and I recognize that life is hard but I can make it if I work hard. I guess the lyrics would be wrong if I thought I should run out and shoot some smack in my arm. Just because I hear somebody sing about something, I am still responsible for sorting right from wrong and making the decision to do what is right.

I enjoy hearing other divergent viewpoints and have come to appreciate the value of having empathy for others viewpoints. This can be accomplished if you remember that a song is for entertainment and you should not adopt it as your own philosophy or moral standard.

No- its not wrong just as nude art is not necessarily pornography.

Scary's on the wall
Scary's on his way

Watch where you spit
I'd advise you wait until it's over
Then you got hit
And you shoulda known better

And we die young
Faster we run

Down, down, down you're rollin'
Watch the blood float in the muddy sewer
Take another hit
And bury your brother

[CHORUS]

Scary's on the wall
Scary's on his way

Another alley trip
Bullet seeks the place to bend you over
Then you got hit
And you shoulda known better

Like grammatically incorrect or what? I'm a grammar freak; I always thought my mom and I were the only people who did that.
