There are different kinds of jobs out there that require very little interaction with people. The thing is, I'm not sure what field of work you would enjoy....However, to "go about starting this process" (as you had wrote earlier), I'd suggest finishing college first. Without a college degree, your choice in work/careers will be very limited.
Almost every field or profession has a position in which you don't have to interact much with people. So if you know what field of work will satisfy you, then that pretty much narrows your search for your "dream job".
If you're still living at your folks' house, I suggest you stay there a little while longer 'til you finish college/vocational training. That way, you can save up money for your future housing expenses. Plus, let's face it. Living at your parents' house makes life a little easier. If your folks charge you rent, at least it isn't ridiculously high. And most parents don't really charge their kids for groceries (although, I'm sure they would appreciate some extra financial help). But when parents see that their kids are really working hard and have solid future goals, most of them will NOT ask their kids for money.
So...to sum it up, get a college education and start saving up money now. Narrow down your dream job by examining the field of work you can see yourself enjoying. Best of luck!!!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting your own place and going to work everyday! If anything, that is a very mature and grown up goal.
If you get your own place, you will still be struggling, but if you are wise with your money, you will be fine. Jobs that are easy to get would be banking type jobs, entry level administrative work. Etc... If you are anti social to the point that you don't want to talk to anyone, you could get a job in a cubicle somewhere.
My first real job was at In-N-Out burger. It was a very fast pace environment with crazy hours... and I brought home about $600 a week! I worked there for a while and eventually was able to find the job that I am currently at which is an accounting position.
After finding a job that you enjoy and that pays well, save up your money for a few months to make sure that you have enough for a cushion and for your deposits. Make sure that your health insurance has kicked in. Then check out several places. Take your time. You don't want to get stuck in a lease at a crappy apartment complex. I would recommend that you drive by the place at different times throughout the day. Also, check out apartmentratings.com. If you'd like, you could even talk to some of the currant renters and see what they think of the place.
As far as furniture and what-not goes, you would be amazed at what you can get for free. Check out craislist.com and click free stuff. Some of the stuff is actually pretty nice! They just want to get rid of it.
I think that you are going to do great!
Good luck!

Many companies have options where the employee could work from home. I guess it depends on the career you've chosen and the availibility of employers that would allow you to do that.
Another possibility is doing something like data entry online. Again, that would come down to what you want your career to be and if there were employers in your area.
I can't specifically tell you what to do though. That has to be your decision based upon what you know how to do. What subjects were you good at in school? Analyze yourself and use the things you were good at.
Next is finding the job. It's easier to rely on a agency to help you find exactly what you are looking for. They have listings galore which saves you from having to find them yourself.
A job isn't going to fall into your lap. You'll need to go on interviews and you'll need to meet the people you work for/with.
Sorry, but I don't think there is a way to have a job without some minimal social skills at the very least. You have to have a boss and you have to talk to him or her once in a while

if you're antisocial you'd probably want to do something artistic or perhaps a job in computers behind the scenes, like programming or some sort of software development. you'd probably be good as a writer, you need to figure out what you like because quite honestly, there aren't many entry level jobs that will keep you away from the public except for data entry, or word processing perhaps. you could work a job like that in your spare time until you develop some other skills that can get you closer to that goal of true autonomy without having to deal with the public.
another thing, I'm rather antisocial myself, and tried very hard to avoid jobs where I'd have to deal with others but ended up working in call centers and actually liked it a lot. interacting with the customers is satisfying, as is problem solving, and it helps that there's always a lively social scene in general amongst you and your coworkers. i worked relay for a while and now I'm working tech support. I'd advise that if you do end up on the phones, choose tech support; my customer service skills aren't always the best, because of the introverted, antisocial nature.
it's very hard to do it on your own without dealing with others though, unless you seriously have a lot to offer, which is why i recommend you build your skills, either alone or through some form of higher education.

Okay, no preaching. The first thing you need to do is get a job that pays well enough to support yourself. Check out what rent is going for in your town, figure in food, car expenses, utilities, personal expenses, etc. Then start saving up so you can look for an apt., you will no doubt have to pay one or two months rent up front, plus a security deposit. I also would suggest you live as frugally as possible once you have your own place, put some money in savings for those unforseen things that always come up. You can always loosen the purse strings once you have settled in and know how your expenses are going. Good luck!

I would suguest that you get and hold down the job, save some money and start where you are. Pay your parents some rent ask for a reciept so that you can show the apartment complex that you can pay rent. Ask your parents or someone that you trust to show you what is expected. There is a lot more than just having a job and paying rent. You have to afford it, pay it on time, and relize that you are going to have other expenses ie, car payment, insurance, electric, gas, phone, and food money.
Once you feel that you can handle all of this on your own start looking. There is nothing wrong with wanting your independice and freedom. To have your own place is great, and also quit hard. Look at everything and learn what you can from your parents, they know more than we do!!
Get everything lined up and planed out knowing what money your going to need and where that money is going to come from.
Good luck...:)

My perception and my advice will not be of real interest to you, because as you say so yourself: you want what you want. Here's my two cents, though: start a business- be your own boss. An online business maybe? One where you never ever have to meet a real person- in person.
