Well, basically, you walk in, and the place is huge. There are two floors, and it goes WAY back. So when you walk up to the theatre, they hand you your 3-D glasses (obviously). But, you could see a movie in 3-D or just normally. So you get into the movie theatre and it is HUGE. The screen is gigantic, and there are so many seats. And let me tell you, IT IS REALLY LOUD. so anway, then the 3-D effect is really big at the begginning. But then, it slowly fades away. Basically, to sum it all up, IMAX IS AWESOME! Hope that helps!

Any movie, whether in 3D or not, seen in IMAX means a much much richer experience in terms of video clarity, video size, and audio quality when compared to a regular theater. The IMAX screens are usually huge. The Dark Knight is not in 3D. But it will have excellent music and action so it will be well worth going to IMAX for only that. Additionally, the opening few minutes and a few more action sequences were shot with IMAX cameras. Thus, to experience these scenes in their true glory you must go to the IMAX theater. So, see The Dark Knight only in IMAX

IMAX (for Image Maximum) is a film format created by IMAX Corporation that has the capacity to display images of far greater size and resolution than conventional film display systems. A standard IMAX screen is 22 m wide and 16 m high (72.6 x 52.8 ft), but can be larger. Currently, IMAX is the most widely-used system for large-format, special-venue film presentations. As of 2006, there were 280 IMAX theatres in 40 countries (60 percent of these are located in the U.S. and Canada).

Absolutely looks 3-D! It's so awesome. After you go to an IMAX theatre and watch a movie, every other movie theatre is going to look like hamburger next to Steak!
I strongly recommend going!
It seriously looks and feels as if the objects on the screen are right in front of you, and it seems as if things will touch you. They give you these dorky glasses (lol) and the chairs move to enhance the experience. IMAX beats all other movies experiences.

It is an all-immersive experience. The picture, the sound, the sensation, but you need a quality movie for it to work, considerin the tickets are expensive ($12, last I checked)
