I got my hamster feb 6, 2006 and shes a female dwarf hamster. A couple weeks ago i noticed this red bump on her stomach which later looked like it had drained of whatever was inside it, if anything. Now it looks like clumps of skin and im afraid it might be infected. i put warm compresses on her stomach, but knowing hamsters, its not the easiest thing to do. So if anyone can help me out with this or let me know what it might be, i'd appreciate it. thanks.

Call your vet.

Unfortunately, most rodent pets do get tumors. Most rats I've kept have died that way. Take it to a vet if you can, but there may not be much they can do if it really is cancer.

Just don't touch it beacause it can give diseses and it is a very common tumor. Sometimes they go away and somtimess they just stay on your hamster untill it kills the hamster. Sorry about the news about your hamster.

Love Erin.
P.S E-mail me somtime! =)♥

It sounds like she has an abcess. She needs antibiotics and it needs to be flushed. Take her to the vet ASAP.

You should take her to a veterinarian. They can tell you what it is, and they may be able to give you some medication for her that will make her more comfortable.

I agree with Julian, small animals get cancer tumors, not much to do.
