Santa is something more than an individual; it is a state of mind, of allowing oneself the room to believe in the impossible or fantastical.
Santa also is about the need to believe that someone really does care about us, that someone is willing to take the time to get to know every boy and girl and 'know' eveyrthing about them, enough to decide if they are good and if so, what kind of gift they deserve.
Whenever someone stops to talk to a man in a white beard, with a red suit and black belt, with a jolly laugh, and tells him what they most desire for xmas, the spirit of Santa is alive and well. These are Santa's helpers, from whom he gleams all the information needed to bring joy and happiness to all.
Be ye courteous as hosts, for one knows not when one entertains an angel unawares.

Rather than directly answering you question (because there is that outside chance that the jolly sumb!tch may very well be real), I'm gonna give you a piece of advice: Don't try and tell you sister Santa Claus is not real. She will eventually outgrow the entire concept, as most kids do.

We really shouldn't answer you unless you're over 6. If you're under 6, believing in stuff like santa and the tooth fairy and angels and stuff is fun and comforting. After age 6 its time to wake up and learn about the real world. If you're over 6, you shouldn't need us to answer you in the first place. You should already know.

now, he lives in spirit
