In each conference (AFC NFC) six teams go to the playoffs. It all depends on your record. the only team garunteed a playoff spot is the division winners; meaning you have the best record in your division. then there is the two wild card spots givin to the next two best records. Its no certain amount of wins set prior to the season it all depends on the records of the teams in your conference that year.

not necesarily the top 6 teams go
u have 4 divisions in the afc and 4 in the nfc
the winner off each division is in the playoffs the 2 teams with best record in the afc and nfc get a bye the first round. the team with the best record in afc and nfc not only gets a bye but gets homefield advantage for all games except superbowl.
finally now with still 2 more playoff teams from nfc and afc it is the 2 teams with the best records who make the wild card

i do no longer agree which incorporate your prediction for the AFC. i think of that it is going to likely be the Steelers prevailing the AFC championship, yet over the Titans. Steelers might have the selection one seed and Titans the selection 2. for this reason, the Titans will ought to play Indy previous to the Championship interest. With the way Indy has performed presently (i understand they are on a protracted prevailing streak) via squeaking out wins interior the fourth quarter against somewhat vulnerable communities, i do no longer see them advancing very far interior the playoffs against a firstclass team. interior the NFC, i think of that the Panthers might have the selection one seed and the Giants the selection 2 seed. I additionally think of the Cowboys will roll into the playoffs with the selection 5 seed (i think of this continues to be available yet must be incorrect). The Cowboys will beat the Giants in a rematch yet finally fall to the Panthers in an in depth NFC championship interest (which may be a shame through fact i might like a Steelers/Cowboys Superbowl with a typical team to win 6 honors on the line). finally, the Steelers will load the line to end the Panthers working interest, forcing Delhomme pass (which possibly won't be a good state of affairs for the Panthers). Steelers win their 6th Superbowl.

Playoffs or playoofs?
You have to win your division or have a better record than all the other non-division leaders
