I think it depends on your location. I use T-Mobile, and they are very inexpensive and I have service wherever i need it. Also, the T-Mobile technical support is the best that i have ever dealt with in any electronics company. They were very helpful when my Sidekick 2 had issues and promptly sent out a new one, no questions asked. Also, with T-Mobile, there are no roaming charges, so wherever your phone has a signal, no matter what network, you are free to use your phone at the normal plan rate.
Although I have not used Cingular, I have many friends that use it. They also get service everywhere they go, but in my opinion, the data charges are exorbitant. If you compare them to T-Mobile's, Cingulars are much higher for mobile email and web. So, it all depends on your individual needs, and what suits your location best, but if you were to choose by cost and customer service, T-Mobile is the only choice.

I live in Alabama out in the woods, and I have T-Mobile. I have had it for almost 5 years now. Last year I swapped to Cingular for 3 days and in that time, they messed up my plan, my phone which they told me was one of the best they had did not work well at all, and I had dropped calls in places (I mean back woods country redneck maw and paw on a farm type deal) that my T-Mobile always picked up in. Hope this helps ya!!

Well, at my house, my girlfriend with T-Mobile can't get service, and my old phone with Verizon can't get service, but my Cingular gets service! I think all phone companies suck.. If they work great in this area, they are horrble in that area (which has another service that works great).... My main goal in choosing service is that I can use it at my house!!

I also now have service at work, where I didn't have service before.

Phone companies usually have maps that show where they have service... You should look at Cingular's and T-Mobile's, and compare which one has better service in your area.

T-Mobile is WONDERFUL!!!! I just signed up not to long ago and I have had no problems, the bill is actually what it is supposed to be and not overpriced at all.

They have much better and simpler plans for a lot less money. I did online plans, services, and activation. It was all so simple and spelled out for you. They also have a myFaves option. I have never heard anyone complain about T-mobile, but I have heard plenty of friends complain about Cingular.

I got my PEBL for free, with free overnight shipping. You can still do downloads for free at 3gforfree.com I am SO happy. You better get those Christmas deals FAST, i still believe they have free overnight shipping/ saturday shipping.

Happy Holidays and go with T-Mobile!!!
