Try some washing up detergent in water don't rub the stain just blot it with a cloth soaked in the detergent and water and dont saturate the carpet then use clear water to finish. but it would have been an idea if you had told us what caused the stain. Hope this helps anyway.

Well, once you have tried everything, it is pretty much set. As a last ditch effort, I'll tell you what I did to cover some burn marks I put in my room when I was a kid. I took a pair of scissors and just snipped (sheared is a better word) little shavings of carpet from areas in the corner or where you couldn't see them (if you do it right, you'll never even notice. When I had enough, I took a little bit of glue and matted the "wig" of carpet onto the stain. If you take time with it, you will never see the stain at all. It's like a white-out for carpets, it covers it up with the natural color of your carpet. I lived in that room for 2 more years and you could never see it. I even vacuumed over it dozens of times. Again, it's pretty drastic, but it worked like a charm.

Hi I would recommend using a wet vac and slowly pour hot water (almost to the boiling point) on the spot and vacuum it up at the same time (this will open up the dye ports on the carpet fibre releasing the stain. and remove the residue from the carpet). If the stain is still visible than use a little carpet spotter on it or Dawn dishwashing liquid (2 or 3 drops into one cup of water) and repeat step 1. The stain may come back in a few days so you may have to do this a few times. Please DO NOT put anything on the carpet that was not made for carpet. At this point if the stain is still there please call a carpet cleaner. Carpet cleaner of 14 years

This is a tip that was given to a friend by a carpet manufacturer when she spilled red Kool-aid on her white carpet. I have used it many times and it works marvelously.
Mix two parts warm water to one part ammonia in a spry bottle. Spray the stain, then scrub in a circular motion with an old toothbrush. The stain will spread--do not panic!!! Cover with a clean white towel, then iron over the towel with your iron on the hottest steam setting. It may take two or three times, but this WILL work!

There is a stain remover I buy called SpotShot, I get it at walmart, it is in an orange and blue can. You can spray that stuff on old stains, and blot them right out of your carpet, dont scrub, spray and put a clean cloth on stain and apply pressure, then it is gone! Best stuff I have ever found, and I clean a lot of nasty homes with some really yukky stains.

Try rubbing a bar of Ivory soap on the stain, then rub over stain with a damp cloth until stain starts to disappear. Ivory soap is pure soap, one of the best stain remover secrets out there.. and a hell of a lot cheaper than professional services. Good luck!

Have you tried Spot Shot? I spilled cranberry juice on the white carpet in my living room and it took the stain out in about three minutes. You can probably get it at Home Depot or Wal-Mart.

White Vinegar is the main ingredient in carpet cleaning fluid. Soak in the white vinegar then just wipe it off with a moist towel

USE 'BARBOSAL' SHAVING CREAM IN THE RED AND WHITE CAN SPRAY CREAM ON THE STAIN AND USE A SCRUB BRUSH FIRST THEN AFTER YOU DON'T SEE ANY CREAM. TAKE A WARM WATER RAG THAT IS RUNG OUT AND GO OVER SAME AREA. THEN TAKE A DRY CLOTH ACROSS IT. IF IT'S BERBER CARPET THEN YOU COULD ALSO TRY 'WINDEX' AND APPLY THE SAME WAY IT OUGHT TO COME OUT.
