Once in awhile, after I dry a load of laundry, there are small spots that look like oil or grease stains all over the load. They especially show up on darker clothes. My Maytag washer is only 2-3 years old. What are they from?

Do you use fabric softener dryer sheets, like Bounce, etc? I have had that happen when I have a really small load and throw one of those in. It has something to do with not enough fabric to disperse it's softener onto.

I would ask the Maytag people at the repair center what's going on. It sounds like a seal in the top of the unit is leaking, however intermittently. Save the clothes, they may be responsible for them. This happen to a friend with a whirlpool from Sears and they paid for all the damaged clothes without a quarrel.
