Well, since I'm left-handed . . .

No, that's a question rather like: Which are better: blue-eyed people or brown-eyed people.

But that hasn't stopped someone from writing a book called:

The Natural Superiority of the Left-Hander (Paperback)
by James T. deKay

(see link below, please)

Here's a review:
"As a lefty child, this book was my bible. I searched high and low for a copy last year after realizing as a grow-up that it was still a book I could enjoy. It does a great job of de-mystifying dominant-handedness while dispensing some interesting biological facts about it (how it's a recessive gene, for example.) It's filled with humorous drawings and fun factoids (did you know that Gerald Ford writes left-handed sitting down, and right-handed standing up?) that anyone -- not just a lefty -- will appreciate. As an added bonus, it succeeds in its goal to provide a good source of self-esteem for lefties who feel left-out."

Here are some "left-wing" thoughts;

""Everyone is born right-handed...but only the greatest overcome it."
"The left side of your brain controls the right side of your body, and the right side of your brain controls the left side of your body. So only left handed people are in their right mind."
Among the Eskimos every left-hander was viewed as a potential sorcerer.
Zip Code 25251 is dedicated to left handers. Left Hand, West Virginia does allow right hander but everyone there is a true "Left Hander."
Can you name the fish with both eyes on the left side of it's head? The answer is at the end of this list.*
James A. Garfield was the first left handed president of the USA. He was a bit of a show-off about the fact he was also ambidextrous. He would amuse visitors by simultaneously writing in Latin with one hand and Greek with the other.
Mark Twain was born frail and a lefty. His mother wrote of him. "I could see no promise in him. But I filt it my duty to do the best I could. To raise him if I could."
Left-handers have an advantage in baseball. A lefty batter is a step closer to first base. A southpaw pitcher can keep an eye on the runner at first better then a rightie.
The term "southpaw" was started by Chicago sportwriters in the 1890's to describe left-handed pitchers. Pitchers in the Chicago stadium faced west towards home plate. Their pitching arm was on the side of town called the South Side.
A left handed comedian started out his comedy career by literally dying for attension. He was a professional drowner in Atlantic City. His fake drowns lured people to the ammusement pier. Who was he?...the answer is at the end of the list.**
Male southpaws outnumber female southpaws by a two to one ratio.
Leftie Albert Einstein was called backwards. He learned to speak late and had problems in almost every subject in school. Don't give up if your left handed child learns slowly. Just keep Einstein in mind.
Because rudders on ancient sailing vessels were attached to the right side they would dock to the left. This became "port" side.
June 10th should be lightning day. On this day in 1752 port-sider Benjamin Franklin flew a kite during a lightning storm to prove lightning is really electricity.
The acnient Greeks were one of the few people positive towards port-siders. Their word for left was "aristera" meaning 'the best'. This is were we get the word aristocrat.

The Kerr clan in Scotland believes their surname comes from the Gaelic "keir" meaning left. Many of their castles were built with counterclockwise winding stairways. This gives left-handed swordfighters the advantage in defending against right-handed attackers.
Napoleon Bonaparte and Josephine are probably the most famous left-handed couple in history. They married on March 9th. If two lefties get married this is the day I would recommend."

Most of the best hitters in baseball have been left handed (Ted Williams, for example). Some theories about this phenomenon include left brain/right brain arguments. Because of the way optical senses are wired, depending on which direction the eye is looking and light is being seen, the different sides of the brain process this information differently. A left-handed batter, therefore, processes the view of the ball being delivered by the pitcher with opposite half of the brain a right-handed batter would. In fact, a left-handed batter processes what he sees with the right side of his brain-- the side usually associated with creativity.

I played college baseball and started switch-hitting half-way through my career. I had always batted right-handed, but taught myself how to hit lefty. Surprisingly, i became a home run threat left-handed. By seasons end, I had 2 HRs right-handed and 7 HRs left-handed.

I'm still playing golf right-handed but if I don't do better next spring, I'm considering a set of lefty clubs. lol

It really depends on how you look at it. If you are left handed, you are unique, but some schools, believe it or not, don't tolerate being left-handed. Also, you may get stuck on the wrong side of a right handed person somewhere and bump elbows a lot, which is terribly annoying. Being right-handed is what more people are, but it shouldn't really matter which is better.

if the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body then left - handed people are the only ones in their right mind.

Neither. Left-handed got a bit of a nasty name back when people fought with swords and shields. Nasty left-handed guys always had their swords and shields in the wrong hand. They were used to it, you weren't, so you were at a disadvantage in fight with them.
