Like, not becuase they hear that, so they learn it, why did it develop and how?

You not only speak the way you hear you also speak the way you see. Look in the mirror and say you. Now try it with different accents. Accents from the south and north differ in the way the mouths move. The Midwestern accent move their lips hardly at all. It all came from the others countries. French and Irish in the south. Italian and English in the north. Norwegian in the midwest.

I KNOW. Isn't it hilarious?
My own sister now lives in Tennessee and has this drawwwl. We are from Los Angeles, hel-lo.
Even Madonna has a british accent. Isn't she from Michigan??

I can't explain it really. It's just goofy.

you learn by immitation and pick up the accent through those around you.
