He's wealthy and successful. A lot of people love those who are wealthy and successful.
Also he is handsome in a certain way that a lot of people like.
He has also been in some great films (although he is usually a bit wooden).
Oh yeah and he was in the BBC show "Extras" once which was funny.
Anyway that is why people love him. Personally I neither love nor hate him. I think he is a mediocre actor but is improving.
