What is your opinion of my boys' names (they are all for a family member or a derivative of one, plus they all have 10 letters each)? BTW, these boys already exist (the youngest will be 8 soon)!

Jacob Paden
Levi Thomas
Isac Daniel

I found Paden (pronounced with a long A sound) in a baby name book back in the early 90's when I was expecting the first time. It said that it was a Scottish variation of Patrick which is my husband's and his father's middle names. Haven't found it again, but it is also a surname in the Bible.

I am a generic Christian, who really believes in the Bible and I really love the sound of many of the Old Testament names. I am originally from northwestern PA and my family is friends with some of the Amish (my dad is a Shriner and drives sick kids to the Shriners Hospital in Erie for treatments, so that is why we are not strangers). My home church (teasingly) refers to my kids as the three Jews whenever we go up home, plus we visit a certain Amish family when we are there.

My boys all love their names and they suit them very well. Occassionally people will pronounce Levi like Levy (short E, then long E), but we have more problems with people leaving off the S of our last name- lol.

Thanks for your nice comments!

For some reason, I do not really like nicknames. I call my kids by their given names and quite often their entire first and middle names. I put a lot of thought and care into picking the names, and just love them so much that I like to say them out loud.

I love the name Jake as a NN to Jacob and I'd call Isac zack. I'm not a big fan of the name Levi, though I'm sure the names suit all the boys well.
I don't know your religion or lifestyle but based on these first names I'd assume you were jewish or amish. Is that a correct assumption? If so, those names are all very fitting, otherwise they are a bit misleading. Which I can relate to since I named my son Elijah and got so sick of the references made about it in the bible ( I am not religious) that I finally just decided he would go by his middle name Ryan.

Jacob Paden is very nice..
Here in NE PA we had twin covered bridges.
One was lost this summer in a flood.. but both bridges
at one time crossed the East and West Paden creeks.
Levi Thomas is another good choice. Iscac.. hmm it's a bit too old fashioned for me.. but being
it's a family name, I can see why you would want it.

I love these names! i know an Isaac (spelled different than yours ) it's a cool way to spell it! i LOVE Levi I am going to use it somday! I love Jacob too but my brother's dog's name is jake and they call him Jacob when he's in trouble. (not that i think it sounds anything like a dog name just telling you why i can't use it) I think you made AWSOME choices! =D

Finally, some classy yet sensible names!
Great choices, but did you mean "Isaac" or Isac? Just wondering.
Congrats, too!
