Not much power, but plenty of influence. As with the chairman of any organisation, his job is to run the meetings and make sure everyone sticks to the agenda. He can't act alone, but carries the authority of the board of governors.

he has the power to act like god and boss others about and really annoy the headteacher if hes anything like my schools head governer oh and flirt with the staff lol
