Internet explorer will still be on your hard drive. If you want to go back to IE then open it from your start menu and click yes when it asks if you want it to be your default internet access. On both Mozilla and Firefox you choose your homepage by clicking on the tools icon on the toolbar and selecting internet options.
In my humble opinion mozilla beats IE into a bloody pulp without even trying.

When you install Firefox, you can have it copy your IE settings over, such as Favorites and your homepage. There's nothing making you uninstall IE; in fact, you can even leave IE as the default browser if you want.
Your mileage may vary regarding which is the better browser to work with, and which you find to be the most secure. But you should keep IE around in case you need to go download updates from Microsoft.
Have fun ...

Yes you can go back to IE but after you'e used firefox for a while, downloaded a bunch of extensions, changed to a custom theme, used tabbed browsing, you'll never use IE again.
With all the knobache people have been having with IE 7, more and more people have wised up and gone firefox - good choice.

It'll just be an extra browser, with IE there as it was before. When you download and open the Firefox installer it'll ask you if you want to keep the same settings that you had in IE (homepage, favourites etc)

Firefox can be used instead of IE but IE won't be removed and you can still run it, the only thing I use IE for these days is microsoft updates which doesn't work with firefox.
You can set any homepage in firefox by setting it in the options.

You'll still have Internet Explorer and you can tell Firefox to set anything you want as your homepage.
Firefox is less susceptible to browser hijacks (unlike IE), has good plug-ins for unwanted pop-ups (unlike IE) and is a lot more secure and helpful.

Yes you may have IE and firefox both on the same computer and they will not interfere with each other. I believe firefox can also import favorites and some preferances from IE when you install it.

United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team:
