people can see me without me knowing..is this true???...I think she is saying that so i dont get one...but I have pocket money..I earn that...so why cant I spend it on what i want...

Yes they can by putting a worm onto your computer accessing your webcam but anti-virus software can stop this. Also i think she just said this to stop you without knowing it's true!

people cannot see you without your knowing as i imagine you will have it switched on only when you are speaking to your friend.
users need your permission before seeing you
go ahead and get one your gran cant stop you if she doesn't know about it
