It's true. Last year while mountain climbing in Alaska
I was asked to break a tie between two down hill skiers. I did my job with dispatch because my tie was frozen stiff. Breaking my tie didn't seem to phase either one of them, they still both came in at the same time.

No. you can break someone elses tie.
